American Horror Story: Coven

American Coven Story – Season 3 is for you if you’re looking for a Halloween present, or something to do on Halloween that is way over the top. It’s great if you’re in the mood to be totally spooked out too.

I am not one for horror I am so easily terrified! It doesn’t take much to send me running for the bed covers. Images live with me forever. So I didn’t actually watch it – I heard it – and I was sickened and horrified.

I’d never heard of this series before and was rather tricked into agreeing to watch. My ‘friend’ told me it would probably be silly, and worked hard to prepare me – to be terrified!

This ‘friend’ is a horror film fanatic so I didn’t altogether trust him and he rated it really highly! He described the opening scenes of slavery ( 1834 New Orleans) as ‘distasteful’, and believe me coming from him that’s praise indeed!

He thought the barbarous character of Madame LaLaurie was “brilliantly disgusting.” I’d agree with that and secretly I think some of her torturous tactics would go down well where I work! I really couldn’t believe how much this guy was enjoying watching this horrible stuff!

Then the witches kicked in – modern day. As you would expect they are out there – I guarantee that! So WATCH OUT who you choose to make your bed partner! Take care, whatever you’re into, because they are definitely out there! How scary is that! These scenes were sickening -I can tell you -but remember I didn’t watch them -I heard them – so great work sound effects team – congratulations!

American Horror Story: Coven is not easy to watch. It is disturbing, revolting and totally over the top.

Every taboo subject imaginable is tackled with no regard to unsuspecting movie lovers like me. Be prepared to feel sick to the stomach and be thoroughly offended. I was.

If you haven’t seen this then ‘treat’ yourself this Halloween and if you want to freak someone out – then this is the perfect gift!

My ‘friend’ looks at me rather oddly now because this has totally convinced me that witches are actually out there…. You don’t believe me? Then WATCH YOUR BACK!

The Exorcist Horrified Me!

Here’s another example of how genuinely scared I am of horror movies I just can’t bear them! When I was at uni, a new film was released – it had the rather alarming title of The Exorcist! I really didn’t like the sound of it at all, especially when I was reading reports that people were freaking out in cinemas, falling to their knees praying, and fainting in the isle!

However, you’ve guessed it – I was persuaded to go with a group of uni friends who decided to add to the atmosphere by going to a midnight showing! Well I closed my eyes and that was it. I heard it but didn’t see any of it. I was terrified. This film has certainly scarred me for life because I have never been able to watch a horror film since! It really did me some deep psychological harm lol!

And do you know what I really don’t believe in ghosts and spirits – isn’t that amazing!

PS I do believe in witches though…

You may have guessed that I haven’t actually watched this trailer – so good luck with them!! I advise you to tackle them with one eye shut -just in case you need a quick get away!
