Microwave Cake In A Mug

Mug cakeI have been dying to try making a cake in a mug. So I did! They looked so fun and easy. I was inspired even more when I’d seen Zoom Yummy’s recipe on her blog. It looked totally inviting. I decided to use my Snoopy’s mug with his name on it for this adventure. Snoopy is my fiancé. We shared the mug cake for our dessert after lunch. We each had  our spoons dug right into it! It was cute and fun.

It’s pretty easy to make the cake mix. I gathered all the ingredients which consisted of flour, sugar cocoa, egg, oil, milk, vanilla baking powder, salt and chocolate chips. I mixed the ingredients up in a bowl and poured it into the mug. Then I sprinkled the chocolate chips on top and put it in the microwave for 3 ½ minutes. Took it out and let it cool. When I checked on it later; it looked a bit hard. Let’s just say 3 ½ minutes was too long but I followed the instructions as it said. Three minutes would have been better. I topped it with butterfingers ice cream. We dug right in but the ice cream ended up being better only because the cake was a bit hard. I guess it was a flop for my first try. We enjoyed it anyhow and had fun. Next time will be better.

Mug cakes can be made for all occasions and decorated up in many ways. There are so many flavors you can make and many fun mugs you can use for this. These would great for a friend or maybe even a parent who is shut. I think kids would love these too. They’d be easy for them because it’s made in the microwave and not using a stove.
