Ingredients
  • 4 to 6 slices of bacon, sliced into ½ inch pieces
  • 1 pound spaghetti or macaroni noodles
  • 1 large can tomato juice
  • 1 medium onion, halved, then sliced
  • salt and pepper, as desired
Instructions
  1. Cook pasta according to package directions, al dente.
  2. Halve onion then slice into ½ inch pieces.
  3. Slice bacon into ½ inch pieces.
  4. Cook bacon in a large skillet on medium heat until starting to crisp. Spoon off most of the oil and grease, so only a little is left in the pan. That should still be plenty for the onions.
  5. Add in the onion, cooking until onion starts to soften. Stir often to avoid sticking.
  6. Pour in the can of tomato juice, and bring to a simmer.
  7. Simmer on a low temperature for 7 to 10 minutes so flavors blend.
  8. Place pasta into individual serving bowls, then scoop tomato juice sauce over the noodles. It should be soupy.
  9. Salt as desired.
