Make your own Hamburger Buns with a Bread Machine

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 3¼ cup bread flour
  • ¼ cup honey (or sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons bread machine yeast or quick active dry yeast
  1. Carefully measure ingredients, combining all in bread machine in order recommended by manufacturer.Select Dough/Manual cycle. Don't use delay cycles.When it is done (mine takes 2 hours 20 minutes), remove dough from pan with floured hands onto lightly floured surface.
  2. Cover and let rest 10 minutes.
  3. Grease two cookie sheets or use parchment paper.
  4. Divide dough into 15 equal pieces.
  5. Shape gently into a ball. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
  6. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 45 to 60 minutes or until double.
  7. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  8. Brush tops with melted margarine if desired.
  9. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm or cool on wire rack.
  11. Be sure to sample one fresh and warm. Yum!
