New Orleans Beignets recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch baking soda
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for frying
Instructions
  1. Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl.
  2. Add the milk and egg and mix well.
  3. Heat the oil (to about 375 degrees).
  4. Drop in spoonfuls of the mix.
  5. Fry until golden brown.
  6. Drain on absorbent paper.
  7. Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
