Halloween – Decorating Outside

I like decorating inside and outside for Halloween, especially with our grandchildren I take great pleasure in watching their smiling faces as we decorate, as you can see in the this picture how excited they get as the season approaches. Or do I really do all this decorating for myself; because I think I enjoy it as much as they do in anticipation for the big night.

Kids and pumpkins

While you’re out there cleaning up the yard this spring or mowing the lawn this summer it’s not to early to think about your outside Halloween decorations, and making a plan for your fun or scary yard decorations.

Every year I set up our inflatable Air Blown Witches in a Cauldron. I like to move it around from year to year. One Year when our first grandson was small I faced the witches toward the big window in our living room. Every night he would stand at the window and just watch it until it was time for bed.

It’s really a pleasure to watch the kids come by on Halloween night; most of them will run over to it and have to give it a little punch. A word of caution, these inflatable decorations have to be tied down and anchored in the ground.

The very first years that I set mine out; I had kids tripping over the tie down lines. The next year I tied the line as close to the witches as I could, problem solved.

So if you’re going to decorate outside consider adding an inflatable Halloween decoration. I can recommend this product as we have had ours for about six years now.

So make a plan early and check out some fine Halloween decorations here: Halloween

  1. Outside decorations on Halloween isn’t something commonly seen in Scotland but, having looked at some of those you recommend, maybe that should change!
