Kruger National Park Safaris
My quest to find fantastic adventure travel and vacations online that are both responsible and sustainable has led me to Africa!
Like many people I love the idea of going on safari and I think the only real way of doing this responsibly is by going with companies like G Adventures or Intrepid Travel because they endorse sustainability, these links will take you to their sites where you’ll be able to read their policies and aims.
While you are there take a moment to order their new brochures and check out their special offers.
The Kruger National Park is one of the many jewels in South Africa’s beautiful crown. A friend recently came back from a safari there with many, many incredibly interesting stories and this one is certainly not for the faint hearted! He witnessed a kudu being killed by a lion right up against the wheel of the jeep he was sitting in. By all accounts this wasn’t a very pleasant thing to see, and given that lions only eat every 4 or 5 days, I’d say that he was pretty unlucky! It’s certainly an experience that will stay with him forever!
As you can imagine, there are many different types of ways of going on safari.
Intrepid Travel is an adventure travel company that specializes in small group travel. They will take you to Kruger National Park on a truly fantastic African safari. You will visit Swaziland, Mozambique’s beautiful beaches, and you will be taken to the remote Zululand district.
G Adventures has an amazing camping trip, for example, it’s only 4 days long, but it certainly packs everything in. This would make a fabulous gift for someone who is in South Africa. (for details see the link below).
If camping doesn’t excite you, then how a bout a trip with Great Rail Journeys, they have several holidays by rail that are conducted in sheer luxury and style. Their beautiful Blue Train will take you to all the major places in South Africa, including a safari where you will be accommodated in a 4 star hotel at the gate of Kruger.
