As we have entered into the Advent season waiting for the arrival of Christmas most folks are preparing for the big day with lots of preparation in their homes. Decorating, wrapping gifts, and holiday baking are just a few that top the list.
What holiday recipes are you baking this year? Do you have traditional dishes and goodies you make every year that say Christmas in your home or do you like changing it up trying new recipes to keep it fresh and different?
Will your baking bring back many memories of when you were in the kitchen with your mother making favorite family recipes or will it be the same traditional baking that you do with your own child?
For this sentimental mother baking Russian Tea Cakes with my daughter this year will be a special event, baking what was a favorite Christmas event with my mother.
Russian Tea Cakes, or sometimes known as Mexican Wedding cakes, were an annual event in my mother’s home as I was growing up. Guess who got to help? This year I will be carrying on that same tradition instilled in me so long ago, thinking about my mother as I spend my first Christmas without her while reminiscing of Christmas baking days gone by.
I am sharing the recipe we followed as those years ago hoping it will inspire you to either begin a new event or continue a deep family tradition from our home to yours.
Wishing you a blessed Advent and Christmas season.Click here for recipes and more info
