A Delicious Spinach Salad for a Healthy Brain

Spinach SaladIf you are going to get back to healthy eating with the new year, here is a salad that will work in more ways than one.

Most salads are good for you, as long as you control the dressing and some of the ingredients. But many salad veggies can be eaten in big quantities to fill you up without high calorie or fat content.

This particular salad was first created for brain health.

It contains nearly all of the top recommended foods for a healthier brain. Those top foods could help prevent Alzheimer’s disease, so you can see why the salad would be good for all of us.

Any food that is good for brain health is nearly always good for heart health too, so why not give it a try.

I fix the salad often for the taste as much as the nutrients. The “Nearly Perfect Salad for a Healthier Brain” is blend of spinach and lettuce with select vegetables, topped with fresh blueberries, walnuts and sunflower seeds. A light dressing of olive oil and apple cider vinegar goes perfectly with the salad, plus includes health benefits itself.

You can see the full recipe here.

It’s healthy, delicious and so satisfying. The blueberries and beets give it a sweetness, the tangy dressing gives it a little bite.

Add some salmon to the salad, and you will have all of the top foods recommended except for oats!

The more we know the better we can decide what and how to eat.

This salad is only the beginning.
