Cinnamon Rolls from the Bread Machine
Prep time
Author: Merry
Recipe type: Breakfast, brunch, dessert
Serves: 12 rolls
- For bread machine dough:
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 3¼ cups bread flour
- For wheat rolls, use 1 cup wheat flour and 2¼ cups white bread flour.
- ¼ sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons yeast
- To make the cinnamon rolls:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- ½ to ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- Put the ingredients into your bread machine according to your's machine's directions.
- Set the machine to the dough setting and press start.
- When finished, remove from machine and set on parchment paper sprinkled with flour.
- Cover with a towel or another piece of parchment paper, then let sit for 10 minutes.
- Roll out dough, getting it as rectangular as possible (not essential, but it helps).
- Spread with butter, then cover with the brown sugar, cinnamon mixture.
- Slowly, roll the dough evenly. Squeeze the ends to hold it in place.
- Slice into 12 rolls about 1 to 1½ inches wide, and place evenly in buttered baking pan.
- Let rise in a warm location for about 45 minutes or until doubled.
- If you prefer, you may cover lightly and refrigerate the dough for up to 2 days.
- If refrigerated, when you pull them out, allow 2 hours rising time.
- Bake in an oven preheated to 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, until lightly browned.
- Remove from oven, flip onto parchment, to allow any remaining cinnamon mixture to seep into the rolls.
- NOTE: I like to preheat the oven to 190 degrees, then turn it off to allow the rolls to rise in the cooling oven.
