New Orleans Beignets recipe
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch baking soda
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- Oil for frying
- Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl.
- Add the milk and egg and mix well.
- Heat the oil (to about 375 degrees).
- Drop in spoonfuls of the mix.
- Fry until golden brown.
- Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
