Activision released the first version of Skylanders in 2011, and the franchise has grown in popularity since then. Just in time for the holiday shopping season, the newest version, Skylanders’ Superchargers has been released. The latest installment was released September 20, 2015, and is already getting rave reviews from grade school boys and girls and parents too. The reason so many people are falling in love with Skylanders all over again is because the Superchargers are bigger, better, and faster than any other version on the market.

Fans of Skylanders already know that each new franchise has a limited edition package. This year’s limited edition package is the Dark Edition. Story Driven Game Play

Like all other games in the franchise, Superchargers is story driven game play. To make it easy for young kids and to challenge more experienced gamers, players can choose from four different difficulty levels. It’s recommended kids start their game play on foot and then take to their vehicles once their comfortable. To ensure any kid can play the game easily, Hugo, Flynn, and Cali are always around to navigate, instruct and guide players.

Is Superchargers Right for my Child?

If you’re asking yourself whether the new Skylanders is right for your child, I have tips to help you decide. Activision recommends the game for kids between the ages of 6 to 8. Kids as young as 4 can play with game, but will need more adult supervision than older kids. It’s not necessary for kids to be able to read well to play the game because instructions are read aloud as they appear on the screen. Due to the installation of difficulty levels, olders kids may also enjoy playing the game with younger children.

Unlike many video games on the market, this version of the game and all others in the franchise are not scary. There is no blood, guts, or gore. Instead, the story mode game is full of bright colors, fun adventures, and challenging tasks. It’s a great way to keep kids entertained that won’t give them nightmares.
