Get ready to take an online tour with  bestselling author, Lauren Carr! August 31, 2015 will begin a six week virtual book tour featuring her new release, Kill and Run.  We are pleased to be a part of this tour, both here at Jaquo and at Mystery Suspense Reviews.

The first in the The Thorny Rose Mysteries will take a big step into the suspense thriller genre.  I’m about halfway through the advanced reader copy I received for the tour and I am loving it.  What an exciting read! I can’t wait to know what happens, yet I’m not sure I want it to end.

The tour comes to us from iRead Book Tours, and promises to be a lot of fun! Be sure to follow her as she progresses through the month. You’ll find reviews, interesting interviews, and a variety of guest posts written by Lauren Carr about her writing and her characters.  As a fairly new and very popular way to share a book, an online tour is both effective for the author and great fun for  readers.

Dramatic Series Set In Washington D.C.

This new series promises to be somewhat different from her other continuing series.  Instead of the ‘cozy’ feel many of her books have, this will is edgier, even more complex and exciting,  and set right in the middle of the capitol of drama.  Start with a young(er) newly wed couple who haven’t known each other long.

Located in Washington DC, Lt. Murphy Thornton is stationed at the Pentagon, assigned as liaison between the military NCIS and non military law enforcement.  That alone offers a more intense read.  The high risk stakes, the back room bargaining, the intrigue—all a part of politics–enters the story.  Political thrillers are among my favorites to begin with.

A little romance, along with old friends and family, it is a sure-to-please suspense series.

I will look forward to seeing how each of Ms. Carr’s series progress.  It’s always a pleasure when the characters from one overlap series with another.  They are woven seamlessly into the story, giving us a chance to catch up with them between their own books  Now we get to learn more about their adult children.

You can see the full schedule of Lauren’s tour here.

Catch up with Lauren Carr

Before the tour starts, you might enjoy reading the interviews she has share with us.  The outgoing author is generous with her time and happy to share with readers.  It was a treat to ask specific questions about her characters and her writing process.

And here is the second interview,  Lauren Carr Shares Her Secrets.

Don’t miss our review as part of the new tour.  You will find it September 2nd, on Mystery Suspense Reviews.

Three Days to Forever

If you would like to read the book that introduced Murphy and Jessica, you can read more about it below.  Three Days to Forever was another suspense filled novel.  Terrorists, assassins, and a wedding just don’t sound like they go together, do they?  It’s so entertaining.
