Duchess of Cambridge: Style.

In June 2015 Catherine,  the Duchess of Cambridge, showed classic yet modern style when she was photographed wearing an outfit that comprised a stylish blue and white striped top, skinny blue jeans and casual yet classic boat shoes.

She looked elegant, relaxed and ready for fun. (Many women noted with more than a touch of envy that her figure looks amazing just a few weeks after the birth of her second child.) The outfit she wore can be copied easily and inexpensively and even though it’s bang up to date, the items are classics which will be in style for years to come.

Catherine is canny shopper when it comes to creating casual outfits.. The clothes that you see above are suitable for all seasons and for a multitude of different occasions.

The striped top she is wearing is classic design with a French look that borders on the nautical. In choosing a long sleeved top, Catherine made sure that it can be worn year round.

The one you see on the right is available to buy online and is made from a cotton blend fabric. (Click on the photograph to find out more). It looks great when worn with a jacket with just the V of stripes being seen at each side of the lapels. It’s the sort of garment that can look casual or can be incorporated into a smarter, more formal outfit using clever accessories. This version is hand-washable and you’ll find many similar styles online. See this link: More styles here.

Catherine’s boat shoes were a brilliant choice. They are casual yet tasteful and elegant and so comfortable. Catherine, Prince William and their son George were attending  polo match and comfy, sturdy shoes are required especially when carrying around a little boy.

The ones you see here are leather and note the open-work at the sides to help keep the feet cool and ventilated. These are perfect for days when you have to spend hours on your feet. See a further selection here.

Blue jeans are now classic women’s wear. As you can see here, they look great when teamed with high-heeled shoes too, or tucked into the top of your boots. A great pair of jeans can be a mainstay in your wardrobe and it’s worth paying just a little extra for  good quality pair. (These are Levis) Great jeans look even better as they age.

Today jeans are made to suit any figure; they are no longer the domain of the young and slim. If you don’t have the duchess’ enviable figure, then choose a longer top to cover any bulges (or last night’s pizza overload).

Shopping, going out to lunch, sightseeing, walking …. you can wear jeans every day, especially when they are teamed with stylish accessories.

It’s  royal look but it’s one that you can easily and inexpensively wear yourself.
