Are you looking for gift ideas for someone who just loves elephants? I have found an online collection that features almost one thousand items – all of which feature elephants.

There are some incredible pieces of jewellery – both modern and traditional. The photograph on the right shows a lovely example. There are other items to wear too, including some gorgeous elephant print scarves.

But there’s so much more. You’ll find lots of sculptural elephants and from  a wide variety of materials including traditional wood carvings.

The items are made all over the world by artisans using their own cultures’ traditional styles and methods.  Many of these pieces are planet-friendly using recycled or sustainable materials and all provide work and incomes for communities that really need our help.

Did you know?

Here’s a superstition from my old mum. She had lots of elephant carvings and she always maintained that elephants in the home (not real one, of course!) should be situated so that their trunks are pointing to an external door. And for the best luck, the trunks should (they say) by pointing upwards. Whatever direction the trunks are taking, elephants are always considered to be good luck 🙂
