Travel essential: Digital luggage scale

Travel scaleWhen you travel, are you one of those people who fit everything into a carry-on or are you the one holding your breath while checking in, hoping you are under the maximum weight for your suitcase?

Air travel today is more involved than ever. Airlines struggle to keep airfares as low with fluctuating fuel costs and less flights. Flyers struggle to keep trips affordable yet comfortable. We are always on the lookout for anything to a trip less stressful.

Baggage fees charged by airlines currently generate over 3 billion dollars just for United States airlines. Even so, if your bag weighs over fifty pounds, you will likely be charged anywhere from $50 to $400 additional for that luggage. You’ve probably seen the lone traveler on the ground beside his or her luggage, rapidly pulling things from the overweight suitcase, stuffing it into an already full carry-on, putting on the heavy coat, or simply tossing an item or two into the trash.

That is why every traveler should own a digital luggage scale. We like this model. It’s an inexpensive yet invaluable tool. a luggage scale enables you to relax (as much as possible when going to an airport) and enjoy your trip. Weigh your suitcase before you leave the house, then stuff the very small, lightweight scale into your suitcase for your return trip.

With everything else you have on your mind when you are preparing to travel, there is no reason to allow the weight of your luggage to be a concern.
